Nearly there

The full size bronze statue of the Greenham Marcher has been moved from Transport House Cathedral Road Cardiff and is now at her permanent site in the Foyer of City Hall Cardiff.

The City Council are providing a low plinth in portland stone to match the civic buildings and a bilingual plaque.

For information try www.uk.indymedia.org

The plaque could have a Greenham song

"You can't Kill the Spirit
She is like a mountain
old and strong
she goes on and on and on"

or a poem in welsh written specially for the unveiling. (At a date to be decided)

Merch Greenham

Ar ein daear niwclar ni - ei henaid
A daniodd ddaioni,
Nid yw perth ei haberth hi
Na' i ffydd byth yn diffoddi.

Vernon Jones

(Her soul ignited goodness on our nuclear land;
The burning bush of her sacrifice and faith will never be extinguished.)

If you have want to influence the choice of poem for the plaque in the foyer contact Mark Munnery at PR and Tourism Cardiff City Council or greenhamsculpture@hotmail.com

A film is being made about the greenham march and the making of the sculpture in Malta and Wales. It will show the dramatic and historic lost wax process and have the voices of the original marchers, a womans voice from inside the base and use the posters, badges, letters and photos of the time. If you have appropriate skills and time we need more help.
